More of My Story

When I started getting places of my own, I would fix them up with flea market finds and a coat of paint. Then I got into larger renovation projects as I moved into homes I purchased. I always just liked living in spaces that were well put together. I’ve done that my whole adult life, but never as a business….until now.

As a young man, I wanted to be an architect but instead ended up going down the path of music, TV and film production. I started in the music business working in recording studios since I played guitar and piano growing up. I played in rock bands starting at 11 years old. OK, my first band played ‘On Top of Old Smokey’ and ‘Oh Susannah’ and there was an accordion player, so maybe it wasn’t a ‘rock’ band, but at 11 years old it felt like it!

After a long career in media production, and almost 20 years at Turner Broadcasting, I was invited by the executives to participate in their ‘voluntary separation program’. (That’s exactly how they worded it!) It was the typical corporate re-organization which included laying off people. That’s when this new career in real estate began.

I started reading real estate flipping books, going to investment seminars, meeting other real estate professionals, all to become a ‘Flipper’. (I like the term ‘Investor’ better since ‘Flipper’ sounds more like something you put on your feet.)

So that’s how I got here. I love it. It’s hard work, but after all, aren’t most businesses difficult to start and sustain? Speaking of which…..we’re always looking for distressed intown vintage properties to buy. Do you know of any? :)
